International Culture: A Topic of Discussion at Recent ITRA Global Conference

May 02, 2013

ITRA Global, one of the largest real estate organizations devoted to the representation of corporate tenants and occupiers of commercial real estate worldwide, recently held its Fall Conference at the Wynn Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Top executives of ITRA Global and select guests discussed best practices and strategic planning related to the site selection efforts of local, national and international clients.

A key topic of discussion was “cultural assimilation”, led by Bruce International, Inc. (BII), a global linguistics company and a Gold Sponsor of the conference. BII presented the top items that ITRA Global executives must know when helping international clients with language and cultural differences to avoid some of the common cultural challenges that arise when companies expand to other countries for the first time.

Melissa Meyer, President of BII states, “Knowing how to work within foreign cultures is key to global success in any culture. All countries have a set of cultural values that affect their style of negotiation and communication. ITRA Global affiliates, with the help of BII’s support services, are well prepared to assist in successful global mobility for their clients.”
